Atlanta, GA – The most prestigious awards program for product design grants Architectural Brass with two Platinum awards and one Silver for three of their 2007 innovations. Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) and its panel of design industry professionals voted amongst a record 1,800 product entries, from all over the world. The awards are judged on both form and function. The Wave Rectangular won Platinum in its category. Its sleek silhouette provides the ability to complement any décor. Its dual ash and trash receptacles provide multi-functionality. This versatility is indicative of all Architectural Brass creations.
The Wave Stanchion also won Platinum in its category, for its signature form. It has received praise for its innovation that has set itself apart from all other stanchions before it. They also won a Silver award for Rue Fumier – an exterior trash receptacle that garnered kudos for its lustrous shape and refined presence.
So what was the inspiration for the concept of the Wave? President/CEO of Architectural Brass, and creator/designer of The Wave, Mr. Levent Tuncel, says “We are always thinking of the future. But we are always thinking of the past. Designs of yesteryear were static, in terms of crowd control. Architectural Brass has been a leader in the industry of public area furnishings and we plan to stay this way.”
He adds, “I am a designer, an architect. I have a talented team here as well. Our vision is all about durability and innovation.” According to Tuncel, the concept was created with the hospitality industry in mind. “Since they are so design and function conscious, we made it for them,” he says. The Wave is suitable for other public spaces such as country clubs, sports arenas, school campuses, and is also functional for exterior use, as all Architectural Brass products can be custom created with any material, metal and color.
